In a Facebook chat set-up by Fox and Friends, Mike Kelly of Fordham blamed parents and teachers for Common Core.
“If parents and teachers were doing such a great job there would no need for Common Core. Unfortunately, there is.”
So there you go, parents and teachers, it’s all our fault. According to the experts, we were NOT doing our jobs. The federal government and the central planners had to step in and create Common Core because of us. Wow. So why do they trust parents and teachers to teach the Common Core any better than any previous standard? Kelly has revealed the “dirty little secret” that is was obvious to most of us all along, Common Core isn’t about standards but about control. Assessments like Smarter Balanced tied to teacher evaluations make sure that teachers teach only what the “experts” want taught to students. And parents, your only job from now on is to get them to the school bus on time. Common Core will take over from there.
