Who has NOT signed or REFUSED the pledge? (Updated)

We are continuing to update our list of candidates who have signed the pledge to return education to parents in Michigan.  Thank you to all the candidates who responded!  The list of names is available here.   State and Congressional races are important because we advocate for less federal intrusion in education, elimination of Common Core and other national standards, and the restoration of Parental rights.

There is a competitive race for Congress in the 10th District that we are watching   A constituent in the 10th Congressional district has done an excellent job asking the candidates for that district to sign the pledge.

Four out of the five candidates running for the seat have signed the pledge.  They are listed below:

Tony Forlini
Paul Mitchell
Alan Sanborn

David VanAssche.

The only candidate NOT to sign the pledge is Phil Pavlov.  We appreciate Senator Phil Pavlov‘s efforts in education in Michigan. As chair of the Senate Ed Committee, he oversaw the approval of SB 826, Repeal & Replace CC in MI. We assume he is advocating for the bill to pass the Senate. But we are disappointed that Senator Pavlov has not signed the Stop CC pledge or the USPIE pledge.

In State House races the following candidates have been asked but refused to sign the pledge

Beth Griffin
Mathew Nielson
Pamela Hornberger
Kathy Crawford
Joe Kent

Apparently, some of the candidates are not signing because they fear the loss of federal funds.  Federal “bribes” with mandates attached is the main reason we have lost control of education in Michigan.   We need candidates who are willing to stand up to the feds and say “NO!”

Please encourage the candidates to sign the pledge:  Printable here: pledge 2016 (PDF)
