ACTION ITEM:
Michigan is in a heated debate over the assessments aligned to the Common Core. The legislature is considering a bill to move the assessments from the Michigan Department of Education to Treasury (under Governor). We do not support this move. Moving the test is merely a paper shuffle not a solution. Even more troubling, the Governor will not tell us what assessment he supports. That’s not acceptable! Lansing is playing politics with education and our children’s future.
